Listening to this boot on Sirius XM - it's...ok so far. Eddie and the band combined somehow make songs sound flatter nowadays and it's the weirdest thing - I can't really explain it, it's like his voice is always just...flat-sounding somehow, and the guitars too, the overall sound of the band is flatter and with less variety. Like Hard to Imagine, I love hearing that, but it's so weird hearing it sound almost down-tuned (when it isn't) because of the guitar sound. Im sure it sounds better in the building, but I feel in the last ten years their live sound has not been what it once was.
I have no idea how the band was able to sound so amazing in the 90s, you hear boots from there and it's just amazing - the actual instrumentation and tones are not even close to how great they were then. You'd think they'd get better as musicians as they got older, but they seemed to have it mastered in their 20s/30s.
Sometimes/Hard to imagine/Black is a crazy start to a show, I would die (in a good way) to get those songs to start the show, but hearing it on the bootleg, it just isn't really hitting that well for some reason. Im 100% sure if I was there live Id be going crazy though, I saw them in 2022 and in the building thought they sounded amazing. On boots, not so much.
I wonder when the end came of Pearl Jam sounding better live than on the CD? Was 2014 the last gasp? I feel like I noticed the flatter sound starting around 2011/2012 though. It's like Eddie's voice is....thicker, for lack of a better word, and the bands sound and tone just not great

(Though it's not all songs, Hail hail, Scared of Fear, React/Respond run sounded better)
Edit: Oof, Wreckage is back to sounding pretty poor again <_<...Why can Eddie not fix his pitch and why does the band always sound so much worse than the album T_T

This show has been hit or miss, some good, some bad (Tremor Christ sounded rough...)
But man....this Maybe It's Time is beautiful.......if Eddie would just do more songs like this he would sound so much better T_T

Hard to Imagine was definitely tuned down in Vegas.

In a visually first of its kind venue like the Sphere, why would anyone want to be backstage?
