I'm glad you liked it and I didn't know you had spun it years ago..I threw it on again today as I packed a few boxes

I really need to dig into Andrew Hill -- he's one of a handful of guys from that Blue Note era that has managed to pass me by thus far.

Not worried about it. It made me listen to it again this week so good came of it. They also just announced a 20th anniversary remaster will be released at the end of summer so the tour I’m hoping for this fall seems likely.

i’ve got a couple of recs in mind.

Daft, is it just down here in Argentina that the Local H album isn't available to stream?

Now playing: Sex by The Necks. It's also not on streaming but Spenno provided a link to a FLAC copy. Is it really just one 56 minute long track? I am enjoying it so far. Just a hypnotic double bass over some pleasant jazz drumming while a piano plays some intriguing chords and arpeggios all around it. I think I hear a viola too or some other bowed instrument. This is very cool

Totally vibing with this and I love how it very clearly demonstrates how one instrument can completely alter the tenor of a piece by filling in different parts of the harmonic spectrum, even while the rest of the ensemble plays the same part over and over

Lots of overdubs on this. Which is fine, just that I thought at first it would be more of a live take.

Might be. It’s available here, but their record 12 Angry Months isn’t. I don’t understand all the rules. I’m sure it’s on YouTube. It’s not critical, though. I’d much rather you went and posted your party pooper thoughts on DM. I love it, but I’d be curious to hear the other side.
