Just realised the youtube version is a live performance - even more hopeful they'll be able to pull it off at shows now. Hopefully the crowd can sing the outro loud enough to drown out Jeff and Mike.

After all the build-up, I didn't think the song was particularly shocking or unexpected for the band.

Seeing them play it live in the video certainly makes it seem more in line with a typical emotive PJ song.

I honestly have no idea.

There's nothing glaringly un-Pearl Jam about it to me. The Fixer felt like a much bigger departure.
