Dave A already says in Fbook that nobody called him but he is up to the challenge. He also changed his profile pic.

Dude, slow down.

I think Ed would rather play solo and swim in his tower of gold coins unmolested than play as Pearl Jam with Dave A again

I am going to put Matt Chamberlain at the top of my list

with Richard S in the number two slot

and they will have many suitors

but this is going to be more than just some hawaiian rando Ed meets late night after bar close

they will need someone with the stamina

this dude kinda rocks for being the lead singer of maroon 5. i dunno if he can play the drums but he can play the shit out of the guitar. i kinda think him and EV would sing well together if he was on drums. i mean i'm sure he can play drums, but replacing matt cameron isn't exactly the easiest thing.

the guy from tom petty's band is a good call. max weinberg's son has done a bunch of a stuff that is kind of all over the place.

Can you honestly tell me you can picture him sitting down to learn the post-Vitalogy catalog beyond a handful of tracks (Given to Fly, DTE and maybe a few cuts from whatever the most recent album is?).

Again if you are ready to abandon everything MC and even Jack did with the band I guess you'd be happy and you'll have lots of company amongst the casual PJ fans that want to relieve the 90's glory days and hear Evenflow over and over again the "correct way". That's not me.
Fair point. My comments are under the assumption that Dave would learn and play Matt era songs.
The most important thing is that the band continue to play varied setlists every night.

I think we should be hoping for a replacement that best facilitates great studio output from this point forward.

this is where i sit. matt chamberlain is the more skilled drummer of the two but when he played with soundgarden he didn't really add his own spin on things - which i'd want him to do with pearl jam.

maybe they should get another jack to make it 2 daves, 2 matts and 2 jacks?

Dave A. saying he's thought about what a personal reconciliation might look like doesn't necessarily equate to "I want back in."
If anything, he sounds grateful that fans care, but, he's essentially asked, in a very polite way, for fans to quit bombarding his social media.

Any other Dave A. consideration is fan projection wish-fulfillment.
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…
