Anyway, this Astros/Red Sox series is a really weird playoff series for me as a fan. My typical fandom can take a loss or three in stride, but I feel like the bar I manage and the people who depend on tips from that bar are so very tied in to the success of this team in the playoffs.

Background: I am 100% accountable for the sales and growth of a volume sports bar a walk away from the stadium. I get a sick feeling in my stomach thinking about what the bar’s year over year Q4 numbers will look like without a World Series, and a seven game one at that. I really hate that I’m watching these games and thinking about the possibility of this bar staff losing out on all of those high volume nights instead of just watching these games and being grumpy because my team looks like shit.

I miss just being a fan.
