Don't understand any hate for this tune. One of their best efforts.

Original lyric sheet by Ed in the newsletter this month. Cleared up a couple of things for me.

still don't know what ed is singing in the last chorus in the live versions.. (take a vow.. take a bow..) but that's ok.

I love this song, top 10 PJ song for me. And Neil's solo is perfection.
This is probably Ed's most adolescent/emo lyrics, but even if i can't relate to the words anymore, I can totally time-travel to 1995 and feel my teenage self being hugged by it.

Are there any live versions where Ed doesn't sing the "hey na na-na-na-na-na hey hey now" over the outro? Never actually been able to get a clear ear on Mike's take on Neil's solo.

Mike hasn’t played a solo in the song for years. I wish he would.

Hmm, yeah, I guess I was just assuming that's him playing that general part, but s'pose it might not be. In any case, wish Ed would just hush up there for a minute.
