Well at least now we know what was is the concept behind having artwork for every single song on the album.

If I was given the opportunity to erase one group of people from this planet, and the choices were mass murderers, child abusers and collectors, I'd pick collectors.

Plus as apologists have pointed out, the price of fuel and paying the crew factors into the price of tickets and everything. This boxed set is the steal of the century.
Does anyone think the band has any involvement in this kind of shit? Or is this all Tim and Santos sitting around lighting cigars with $100 bills pondering the next cash crab and just putting it on sale?

I managed to snag one before they sold out. Let me know if anyone wants to trade for a copy of the Benaroya vinyl box.

Who cares? There's no bonus music here. And, it is not like they're marketing the crap out of this. Just a collectible for those who like this type of stuff.

The 10c couldn't do this kind of things without the band even if they wanted to unless of course they control the music rights of the band's catalogue.hopethatuchoke wrote:BurtReynolds wrote:guys, they have mouths to feed.

Re: Pearl Jam: Sevens
I don't think anyone ultimately cares. I think most adjusted fans have accepted that they're the grunge Kiss at this point. But it's good fodder for humor, especially because (unlike with Kiss), it's not done with a wink and a smile. But I don't think anyone really cares. If they do, they haven't cared for long, cause if this was really a make or break type of thing for a fan, they would've have gotten off the train a looooooong time ago.EJ wrote:Who cares? (Someone will now inevitably post a reply here about this is some kind of piece of art or something)

Re: Pearl Jam: Sevens
I think my only complaint about this is that it isn't more ridiculous. When I get an email from the Ten Club I want it to continue to push the boundaries. After dog collars and board shorts and the Summer/Fall/Winter lines, this isn't really all that funny or interesting. I want to open an email and see "PRE-ORDER YOUR MUNK ONE LIMITED EDITION TWENTY-EIGHT RIMS SPECIALLY MADE TO COMMEMORATE JEFF HURRYING OFF OF THE STAGE IN BALTIMORE TO HAVE WHAT FANS HAVE SPECULATED TO BE A BOWEL MOVEMENT OF EPIC PROPORTIONS! LIMITED EDITION! MEMBERS ONLY! ALL ENTRIES MUST COME ACCOMPANIED WITH A 1500 WORD ESSAY ABOUT WHAT 'HEARING THE SIRENS' MEANS TO YOU! PURCHASES MADE WITHOUT AN ESSAY WILL RESULT IN THE TEN CLUB KEEPING YOUR MONEY AND SENDING YOU NOTHING*.

Re: Pearl Jam: Sevens
Thing is, there is an obvious discrepancy between the amount of marketing they're doing now for mostly-mediocre music, and the amount of marketing they used to do for much stronger music back in the day. I remember when posters were such a luxury merch item because, apart from clothing, they were pretty much all the 10C sold. All of the fun has gone out of the poster-collecting (not that I was part of it, but I enjoy looking at the art) because there are hundreds of other products to choose from.

Re: Pearl Jam: Sevens
I consider the coffin to be the ultimate manifestation of Kiss doing this with a wink and a smile, whereas Pearl Jam sells $350 winter jackets without a hint of irony. At the end of the day, it's still two bands peddling themselves as a brand. One is just cartoonish about it, and the other isn't.
