Who's Dave L? Was that the third drummer before Jack?
Dave Letterman. I was trying to be funny. Reeeeally didn't work. At all.
Pretty sure he got it .

Absolute mega track. First time I heard it was in a studio and I pumped it. Man, shit was moving. I think I had it on repeat for 30 mins before I played Small Town or Alone.

Man, I was listening to 10/28/2000 San Bernadino on the way back from a hike, and I was really tired, and the first song was RVM, and they killed it. I couldn't remember what the second song was...and then, bam, the "Go" intro. Holy shit. I tried really hard not to wreck the car while I was rocking the fuck out.
Pearl Jam in 2000...
Edit: There's just something about them playing "Go" live. It's usually early in the set, and it's always just perfect. Particularly after a slow opener, and then...it just hits you with so much force. It's perfect.

When they played this in STL last fall after the "Pendulum" > "Low Light" > "Small Town" intro, shit got real.

I'm listening to this right now and I feel now more than ever that this is completely untouchable in their catalog (and in just about any catalog). They are fucking on fire in this beast. The whole band has never sounded better. Jeff's bass is tight, gurgling, and monstrous. The interplay between Stone and Mike has this electric, furious energy - a coiled snake when subdued that lashes out with fangs rearing when the riff explodes. Eddie has never sounded so passionately enraged, so deliriously convicted. And Dave A. ties everything together with a relentless bounce, snap, and funk. They all come together as one snarling, uncompromising entity - slithering, ebbing and flowing in unison. The chemistry and ferocity is ridiculous. This song is flawless. It's perfect. It's a masterpiece. They could have never recorded anything except this song and they would still be legends in my mind.

Loved the rest of your thoughts but this was a bit much.

It's a fucking great song, isn't it? I also love how the down beat changes in the second chorus. So clever that you don't even notice it!

It's so fucking good. I was listening to it some more today. I think it has some of Eddie's best lyrics on top of all that too. I think "Suppose I abused you, just passin' it on" is one of his best lines.

I especially love the 12" single version, it's a damn good sounding piece of vinyl.

Got "Go" as a show opener once and it was so brutal.
