back in, oh say, mid 90's when i was on the bootleg hunt i would get this catalog in the mail from a place in Texas. They would list some bootlegs they had and sometimes they had some PJ ones. I'd always call into the store to check if they got anything in and if so what the tracklist was. The guy was so sweet to me. He would read the setlist off from the CD and any time he'd say tremor christ, in that texan twang, I would smile ear to ear.

I would just go down to Quincy Records and Tapes and see what they had in stock.

Interesting takes on this one. I've always thought is was thematically more... traditional? universal? The proper word is escaping me at the moment, but here goes:
Winded is the sailor, he's drifted by the storm.
Wounded is the organ he left all bloodied on the shore.
A couple has had a very serious fight and broken up.
He's done something to break his own heart and abandons the relationship
Gorgeous was his savior, sees her drowning in his wake.
Daily tastes the salt of her tears, but a chance blamed fate.
He loves her, but his actions have destroyed her emotionally
He's resigned that it wasn't 'meant to be' and was not his fault
Little secrets, tremors, turn to quake.
Smallest oceans still get big, big waves.
His self doubts and fears in relationships overpower him again and again
Ransom paid the Devil. He whispers pleasing words.
Triumphant are the angels if they can get there first.
He is on the edge of giving up. Contemplating suicide to make the pain stop.
Will he rethink it before it's too late?
Little secrets, tremors, turn to quake.
Smallest oceans still get big, big waves.
(same)
I'll decide, take the dive.
Take my time, not my life.
Wait for signs, believe in lies
To get by - it's divine.
Oh, you know what it's like.
The angels win out. He's going to give it another try.
Hoping it gets better, to try to believe that love is a real thing and can last
and to not be consume by fear (that's what makes life worthwhile)
knowing everyone has faced this point, to take the chance or run
Turns the bow back, tows, and drops the line.
Puts his faith and love in Tremor Christ.
He heads home, steadfast in his decision
Betting it all on her

Don't know this spot. I got my boots then at Rockit Records on Rt 1, and then I'd go to the bootleg shows in Boston.
It was on Hancock Street, across from the old Quincy Cinema.

i think of this song about once a day

whenever i set the buttons on my dishwasher the pattern is this beep-beep-beep-beep that reminds me of the first four strums of the guitar on the song :haha:

Every time I hear the whir of a hybrid vehicle passing on the streets, I think I am about to hear the very beginning intro of Bohemian Rhapsody, so I can relate.
