The shots of the shithole town where they work remind me of a couple of towns I lived in as a kid. And the religious/occult imagery is creepy as fuck.
Mud, Dallas Buyers Club, Wolf of Wall Street, this... McConaughey has been money in the bank. Not sure I've seen him play this type of character before.
All of this is spot on. Really enjoyed that first episode.
- Spoiler: show
- Really stupid question: with the way the detectives were questioning the guys, are they tossing out a red herring that McConaughey might be the serial killer?
I interpreted that to mean:
- Spoiler: show
- That McConaughey thought they caught the wrong guy, perhaps the reason for his break up with Woody
Yeah, that's the more likely and better scenario.

Almost looks like League City, Texas (Texas killing fields), which isn't too far away from the southern part of Louisiana.

Good stuff. I'd like to watch it again to catch all the names in the investigation. I was surrounded by people who opened chip bags.
I was also surprised by the few times that I laughed. The car scenes with Woody & Matt were ace.

So you like dialogue driven cop shows where they utilize the time spent in the car for sometimes meaningful, sometimes mundane conversation? Perhaps I know a show you may be interested in.

It's not Homocide, is it?
No, I just feel a bond with Chole. I like his talk.

Your continuing advocacy for Homicide inspires me, Skitch.

I really enjoyed it. My wife, from louisiana, also loves it.. and cites how spot on Woody is with the accent. Not too "southern," but just almost a heavy, slower version of speech. I have very high hopes for this series. Plus, you know, Daddario.

She shows em. I don't know if they're real, but they're spectacular.

Does anyone know if you can pay for HBO month to month, and if so/if not, what is the price? Or is that determined by your cable provider? I'm going to call, I just wanted to know what everyone else pays.

HBO Go maybe? If you have a smart tv or a streaming device, I think. No idea of cost, I'm in Canada where everything American costs more.

Holy fucking shit that was great! McConaughey is mesmerizing. And I saw some BBC/ITV-level cinematography in that episode.
