When I first moved there I expected to be totally awful and initially planned to only be there a few weeks. It ended up being nearly four years, and some of the absolute best times of my life. I'm pretty excited about potentially moving back there. People who trash it have rarely actually spent time there (and if they have, they've spent all of that time in the touristy area doing touristy things during the busiest season of the year).
