A bartender friend recently put up a public facebook event for a practice round for her upcoming speed rack competition in NOLA. To be honest I wasn't sure if it would be fun, but I'm really glad I went last night. It's a really cool way to experience the bar.

We're leaving some F&D bloody mary posts on the table over in the Talk About Your Day thread right now. That's not something we're really in a position to be doing after under-performing as a forum over the last year, guys.

I've been drinking a lot of new cocktails this winter. My recent favorite is the sidecar---cognac, triple sec, lemon juice. I'm still figuring out the best balance between the sweet and sour of the triple sec and the lemon juice. Every combo I've tried thus far has been tasty, though, haha

That picture looks very heavy on synthetic lemon juice aka sour mix.

You’ve got to use Cointreau instead of plain old triple sec

There are many good non-Cointreau triple secs/orange liqueurs

It was obviously just a random goddamn picture I pulled from Google, Reid. I said in my posts what the real ingredients I've been using were. I wouldn't use some disgusting sour mix or whatever the hell you're talking about, and frankly, I resent your implication. I don't understand why you are doing this to me, why you couldn't just engage with me in a sincere and positive way

I love a Sidecar. :heartbeat:

But I'll tell you I've been really into Amaro lately. Especially with rye or bourbon. Give me a Paper Plane or Boulevardier any day of the week.

If you're gonna drink, drink it straight. And older women know more.
