He's actually pretty handsome in that picture, but to answer you, hell no. I thought my captions made it pretty clear he looked like a guy you didn't want to fuck with.Lament wrote:You want to step into the box and face a pitcher that looks like that, Kaius?

Yeah lol. After the 1885 championship series he haggled contract negotiations via trans Atlantic cable from Paris, France.Lament wrote:Does it say where he got the nickname "Parisian Bob"?

True story:
While many remember his 1908 season for his 40 wins, others remember it for the 40 drifters he strangled to death.

That's actually incredibly cool.Kaius wrote:Yeah lol. After the 1885 championship series he haggled contract negotiations via trans Atlantic cable from Paris, France.

A lot of scouts said in his prime Ichiro could have hit 30 homers and drove in 100 plus RBI if he wanted to and that was his role and he was what 160? I don't care what he was billed at. In HS when I played sports I was billed as 6'0 and I was 5'9/10.

Don't get me wrong, Ichiro is great. But he's no Parisian Bob.

There's a pitcher from the early 1900s known as "Slow" Joe Wilson.

How about Rogers Hornsby hitting .424 in 1924 and finishing 2nd in MVP voting.

I'm just waiting to find out the ol' Philadelphia Railsmen of 1887 were led by a handsomely mustachioed shortstop who went by the name of Whitey McTeeth.

Oh man this is just the best.
Is Argo going to put together a Yankees squad? We should probably wait and see for sure.

Fuck.

Ice Box Chamberlain of the St. Louis Browns (Cardinals).
From his b-r.com page, "Chamberlain alternated arms during at least one game."

I have a buddy who played against this kid in HS. Even though I should hate him for being an A. Creighton guy and B. Yankee I'd love to see him get a cup of coffee.Lament wrote:Fuck.
