The last one didn't even qualify as mindless entertainment. Well, maybe one of those things. But hearing that this one is hip-deep in self-referential moments does not make it sound like an improvement over that garbage.

Skyfall was fantastic. So, yeah, you're right. It wasn't mindless entertainment.

Jesus, it was dumb. From the 500 foot fall into shallow water to the villain who controls the world because computers to 'wait he wanted to get caught' to farmer Bond. It didn't even manage to do any of this stuff in a way that was kind of fun.

I did like the way they shot that fight with the sniper in the building tho (that was Skyfall, right?). And until he fell, the opening scene was pretty good.

Skyfall had really nice visuals, but it was a pretty bad movie overall. Bardem has to be one of the worst villains they've had in this series.

Jesus, Skyfall was a piece of shit. Worst Bond movie ever made. No one involved with the Craig era seems to have any idea what makes the franchise work. Ugh.

Bond is such a weird franchise to me. I don't get it.

Casino Royale was fantastic. Its not my favorite Bond movie, but it certainly ranks up there with the best of all of the Bond flicks. I also think Quantum has aged pretty well. It didn't necessarily feel like a true Bond movie, but it had an appealing edge to it. It would've worked as a great bridge to the next Bond movie.

However, Skyfall just completely went off that map and kinda ruined the trajectory of the Craig movies.
