Apparently I forgot my annual bump of this thread last year. Won't make that mistake again. This song is the salve this shitty year needs.

I like it. It's peppy.

I'd like to hear these guys create a song with this kind of pep

My favorite Pearl Jam recording of an actual Christmas song.

And sorry Stevie but the Jackson 5 version is the definitive cut.

Thanks! Glad to see I'm not the only one.
I seem to always play those two tracks back to back.
Perfect pairing.

I played my 45 of this for the first time last night. I got it in 2004, the one year I belonged to the 10C (which I only joined so I could get Vote for Change tickets), and it's been sitting in a pile in my closet ever since. Somehow it has managed to survive several moves and purges, knowing its moment would someday come.

The 10 days of PJ should just be them posting a YouTube video of this song ten times, kind of like that blog that posts the same picture of Dave Coulier every day.

Q: Why did Eddie Vedder stop singing “oh Beth” during “Oceans?”
Spoiler: show
A: Because he has a new wife now and he doesn’t want to hurr durr.
Merry Christmas, everyone :)

I had a Christmas vision that album #12 was 12 remixes of this, which became PJ’s bestselling album and then eventually the bestselling album of all time by anyone ever, and everyone who heard it discovered what life’s really worth, and there was peace on earth, and the 20 people who as of 12/23/23 had voted it fewer than 5 stars on the popular Pearl Jam forum Red Mosquito felt very ashamed indeed.
