Season 7, and the finale specifically were absolutely terrible.
This show was a comedy, that spent its final hour without a laugh.

yeah, comedy series finales are notoriously not funny, but a whole final unfunny season was painful. that johnny karate episode i watched 5 minutes of especially.

I don't think Season 7 was the best by any means and probably had only one top tier episode (Ron and Leslie) but I thoroughly enjoyed the finale. Will certainly miss this show!

You didn't like the Ron and Leslie episode?
I wasn't the biggest fan of this season, but there were some enjoyable moments and fun callbacks to previous seasons. This show has always been on the sweet side of comedy so I wasn't disappointed with a sentimental finale.

The ron and leslie episode was okay. And there were good, funny moments throughout the season. But with the whole "2 years in the future" schtick the whole season felt like an awkward reunion episode for the most part. The callbacks often times felt forced (hey guys, remember that Ben likes Calzones?)
The Johnny Karate episode was an abomination, probably the worst episode of the series. And I get that this was a sweet comedy and thats a big Part of what made it a great show, not just a cheap laugh (which really is what the office did best- the sentiment always felt forced). But as good as parks and rec was at being "sweet," without the comedy its nothing special. I don't know if there was more than a single laugh in the finale, which to me ignored at least half of what this show was.

Finally watched the finale, I liked it, but then again, I'm a sucker for this show and love almost everything about it.
Oh, and yeah, the Johnny Karate show was terrible.

Kind of a weird season. But I enjoyed a lot of it. Far from their best batch of episodes, but certainly not awful. The Johnny Karate episode was easily the weakest. And the finale is middle of the road. But it was a great journey. Part of wishes the series finale had been last season's season finale. I remember thinking, where do they go know? That felt like the end.
I was surprised when a 7th season was announced. But, anyway, good bye P&R. It was a great GREAT journey. Gonna miss this show.

I agree with all of this except for the bit about Johnny Karate. I thought that episode displayed a great deal of pathos.
