Though the reviews are universally bad, they seem to say its not that bad. Its just slightly bad. or mostly bad.

I think the better takeaway here is that Hollywood should stop fucking with directors' movies.

I didn't like his ideas for it, but it probably would have been better without studio interference. Or maybe he really was flaming out on it. I dunno fuck this movie.

I have a feeling there is plenty of blame to go around. I don't understand why these people make these movies when they are clearly embarrassed by the source material. That tweet was a smart career move by Trank. I foresee lots of directing opportunities for him in the future.

I'm not sure if it was Hollywood who so much as fucked the movie over but tried to save it. Tons of shit came out about Trank acting strange, difficult, and withdrawn - which is why Star Wars dropped him. It sounded like a young guy who let a lot of shit go to his head.

Agreed. I find it hard to feel bad for him after reading reports of his on-set behavior. Also, tweeting that on opening night is highly unprofessional.

Wow, yeah, I just read that Hollywood Reporter piece on Trank's behavior. I don't see this guy having a very bright future in movies.

i really want to see this as it is kinda near to the ultimates version.
the problem is two fold for the versions of this movie (and i say this as i liked the first two. not loved. but liked)
1) how on earth can you not get dr doom translated correctly? he is the epitome of a villain. He is all ego. thinks he is the smartest person in the room. answers to no one and believes everyone is beneath him
2) the story is about family. sure only johnny and sue are related, but reed plays the fatherly type, ben the cool uncle, sue the motherly worriesome one and johnny the immature out of control heart in the right place only child.
that is all you need.
