I don't care that your girlfriend is short. Get her off your damn shoulders.

Absolutely useless if you're standing behind them anyways.

My bad, I had you pegged as a side-stage, dimjinky kind of guy.@SkitchP wrote:Soma. wrote:Like fuck, Skitch. What if they're those low-self-esteem-tits-for-africa kind of shoulder-riders? What then?

clearly durden is luke sywalker and chud is chewbacca. with the docks as han solo and alex 3po it would be a fair fight but they aint here so its all dark side, all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@SkitchP wrote:The new board has made everyone mean.

I am. In fact, I would bet most of the people on this board are the boring people at this point. I would never yell at someone to sit down, but I don't behave like I did when i was 20.
how would u feel if people sang and danced at the movies?Kevin Davis wrote:warehouse wrote:its a concert, not a movieKevin Davis wrote:I would be delighted if everyone at every concert I attended just sat down and shut the hell up.@SkitchP wrote:warehouse wrote:sorry for offending you skitch, i didnt realize u were one of those boring people

I find putting as "Pearl Jam's audience has, for the most part, progressed beyond moshpits and crowd-surfing" quite funny. I think it's more like Pearl Jam's music has regressed where they can't spark enough interest for moshoing or crowd surfing. I'm older and I'd still rather be at a concert that's going off with moshing and crowd-surfing knowing that relegates me to the sidelines mostly than a staid affair. I love youthful energy, people don't progress beyond that they just grow old, some earlier than others.Birds in Hell wrote:That was one of my points: that I think Pearl Jam's audience has, for the most part, progressed beyond moshpits and crowd-surfing, so they're not necessarily fair assumptions to make in regards to GA shows. If anything, I think I'd take a GA show if there's a high abundance of irritating crowd behaviour - at least you can move to a more enjoyable position.Angus wrote:I think it’s a little unfair to associate GA shows automatically with mosh pits. There’s a big gap between the “I don’t want there to be moshpits” and the “I want to sit down” feeling. I’m still nowhere near the second one, but I’ve kinda always had the first one.Birds in Hell wrote: If concerts have seats, I think it's kind of reasonable that people expect to sit and watch the show. If Pearl Jam expect people to stand, they should play GA. I'm pretty certain Pearl Jam's fanbase has progressed past moshpits by now.
The other was that, if seats are provided, then it's mildly ridiculous to have a baseline assumption (which seems prevalent in the Pearl Jam fanbase) that everyone is expected to stand up. I've seen the band in both environments and, while I was one of those standing at the seated shows, I certainly wouldn't have done so unless I was absolutely certain I wasn't going to be inconveniencing anyone.
They made us sit for the acoustic set on 7/11/03.EJ wrote:Unless its an intimate, acoustic type of performance (a la Benaroya), it would be really bizarre to be at PJ concert with everyone seated. Not sure I'd get the same rush.
