I mostly just thought it was funny. CGI isn't advanced enough yet for those kind of prolonged close-ups.Kaius wrote:The bear attack was vicious.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
Who would you give it to this year? I haven't seen nearly as films as you but I'm having a hard time thinking of memorable performances.LoathedVermin72 wrote:The Oscar is his. He doesn't deserve it, but he has it.
It's been a slow year for leading male performances. I think the best I've seen was probably Kurt Russell in The Hateful Eight.Monkey_Driven wrote:Who would you give it to this year? I'll have to watch it again as it wasn't in the theatre, but I thought it looked good.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I mostly just thought it was funny. CGI isn't advanced enough yet for those kind of prolonged close-ups.Kaius wrote:The bear attack was vicious.
I actually thought "its amazing how CGI animals can look so close to the real thing, but CGI humans even in wide shots are so fake." There were a few shots where the bear was very obviously CGI though.Kaius wrote:I'll have to watch it again as it wasn't in the theatre, but I thought it looked good.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I mostly just thought it was funny.
