I am still blown away by the jacket.

Has he carted it around in his luggage for 19 years, waiting for exactly the right show to break it out again?

I miss Jack too.

re: Chad Smith - it's probably not ideal that when you hear another drummer jump onstage for an impromptu performance that you actually think "oh yeah, that's the stuff", as though this guy gets the feel right without even trying. That said, no knock on Matt etc.

Pearl Jam better in daylight.
Mural Amphitheater in the early '90s is one thing.

This is a different thing.

Maybe they can rotate other famous drummers through for the rest of the tour. Phil Collins must be around somewhere.

Fuck yea Gods' Dice. And it sounds pretty damn good!

Is Pearl Jam killing it with this tour? Kinda seeming that way.

Well it is the 4th year of the LB tour so they've had some practice.

I was in the audience, so I'm biased, but the surprise 6 p.m. acoustic set in Mansfield (Summer, 2003) is tops for me.

This holds true on the boot too.

For six and a half minutes, that was Pearl Jam up there, not whatever else has masqueraded as Pearl Jam for the last 15 years or so.

it also helps that Matt plays it on guitar better than the others. more like the way Neil plays it.
