Actually, a live version came on PJ radio on Sirius and I thought, “This sucks because Ed sings the wrong first lyric, and it’s too damn fast”. So I flipped over to my iPod, listened to the album version, and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

But it was easier to just say “Album”.

Due to it being played all the time, this song may be overlooked by a lot of people now, including myself. But damn this song is a monster and I love it.

Right now I want to make this same comment to every song in their catalogue.

All taken for granted.

Fuck we’re lucky

Strat knows I made my comment because of the version from the Seattle show streaming. It's a monster and one of the best songs of the night

Even Flow is so cool in 1993. WHY COULDN'T THEY JUST KEEP THIS TEMPO? Dave A plays this song like nobody else. The version on the Seattle bootleg from later that year is SO good. But I couldn't find that one on youtube

I can understand if they don't get along with Dave A but can't they at least try to play Even Flow with intensity and groove like that? It went from literally a top 5 song in their catalog when they play it in the early 90s to being forgettable. The live versions from Dave A are just insanely amazing and some of the coolest live music IVE EVER HEARD BY ANY BAND.

^Also amazing. I prefer the 93 tempo because its more like the album, but the 94 one has extra live intensity without sacrificing the central groove. All Dave A. He kills it

Give it time. It's a grower.

this is a song that doesn't work for me unless it's at the original's measured funky pace (or near it), which is a shame because it hasn't been played at that pace since *stares off ruefully into the middle distance* damn near 400 years

Omg....

Please go to 3:15 of this video

Heard this on the radio and was mindblown by how good it sounds, not just how good they are at this song but that any live band can sound this AMAZING.

Why have they ruined this song live. It is seriously one of their GREATEST songs and when played like this it just sounds incredible. I'd kill to hear a slow groovy Even Flow one day

listening to a 2024 boot and the way they play Even Flow now (And for the past 20 years lol) is an even bigger sin to me than the awful Corduroy singalong. This is such an amazing song on the album and in the early live versions

me too, I don't care about happy sing-alongs, I care about murdering the vibe of songs by speeding through them
