Same.@SkitchP wrote:I agree with stip on the whole "staying up until midnight watching movies" thing. It's a difficult trade off, because you never know when that morning is going to start a whole lot earlier than you want it to the next day. We've basically transitioned to TV series for just that reason. When the kids go to bed we can watch a couple and still go to bed at a reasonable time... just in case.

Yet to hear this but my wife and I haven't braved many films because they just get interrupted. And you get frustrated.bada wrote:Same.@SkitchP wrote:I agree with stip on the whole "staying up until midnight watching movies" thing. I'm too much of a morning person to do late night films. I can stay up until 3 am for an entire week, and never once manage to sleep past 5:40. Makes it hard to watch any movie that is too violent, or that requires you to be able to always hear the dialog.

Good interview chaps. Stip is so polite and considered not wanting to interrupt LV. It's great to put voices to the posters.

Sorry guys, I never got to listen to the whole thing the other day, so I'm listening to it again now.
It's great, by the way. Thank you guys so much for doing this.

You guys are really making me think about the individual elements of films. What do I respond to most? What do I value most? How would I rank those elements? Why?
This is good shit, team.

So, Jordan, would you say the Dark Knight trilogy is good, just not interesting?

This series is really good guys.
Like Joey says, its really focus and sharp, and it brings different theories and elements to the topic.
Its way better than most of the podcasts i know.

Though, maybe Jordan needs a sign-off phrase. Or maybe, like asking the same question every week at that start, maybe ask everyone the same final question? I don't know. Just a thought. This thing is so great. It's not really broken, just spitballing possible improvements.

You never really defined 'good' yourself in the interview. How do you define the word?LoathedVermin72 wrote:Nodurdencommatyler wrote:So, Jordan, would you say the Dark Knight trilogy is good, just not interesting?

Re: Sharing Cinematic Values #2: stip
I'm not convinced there is such a thing as objectively "good." Personal ideology plays too heavily into interpretations and responses. We can reach a degree of faux-objectivity when debating individual elements, how they're executed, and whether they jell with other elements, but that doesn't always ultimately indicate quality in a larger sense.durdencommatyler wrote:You never really defined 'good' yourself in the interview.
