Red Mosquito

I really don't have any dog in this, as I can't really make up my mind, but I don't really get anyone saying one of these songs is eons better than the other. I'd be a bit surprised if Ledbetter lost, but not shocked.

Every second of Yellow Ledbetter just aches with beautiful longing. The take of 1/2 Full on Riot Act is a flat and lifeless clone of Red Mosquito.

The reason one of these songs has grown stale is that you've been listening to its awesomeness for twenty years, and 1/2 Full has only recently been worth your time is that you've exhausted all the more interesting songs that surround it.

This bodes well for backspacer and l-bolt songs for our 2036 tournament!

I never said your vote was illegitimate, just that it was stupid.

I'll admit, my feelings on Yellow Ledbetter are slightly colored by the place it's come to occupy in PJ's live show. Over time, I've seen it less as a song than as the relaxing cigarette at the end of a long show. It's a nice, loose pleasant way of capping the evening. And I like that about it; I don't mind the fact that it closes many shows and I think it occupies that role perfectly. So maybe that's colored my opinion on the actual song, but on the other hand, the song has never been so arresting that it demanded I view it in a different way.

There are few songs more immediately arresting than Yellow Ledbetter. The live version has morphed into something completely different (your description is apt) but the studio take is something sublime

whereas half full is 210 seconds of mike solos looped through a stifled yawn

I dont want to change my vote because I genuinely like Inside Job the most but I might because Yellow Ledbetter is so much better than 1/2 Full.
