So, yeah. Not sure if this a union scary tactic ("with officers laid off") or an honest attempt to communicate the seriousness of the situation in that area to the public.

I can understand criticizing it if its interpreted as a indirect plea for more funding, but some local groups are interpreting him as calling for vigilante justice. If you go far enough along the gun control spectrum does it make sense to equate self defense with vigilante justice? It didn't sound as if he was telling everyone to go Bernhard Goetz on the neighborhood ruffians.

Anyone around here really into skeet shooting? I shoot trap occasionally, and I don't see too many ported shotguns. Is that more typical for skeet shooting?

I like skeet shooting but I don't know a thing about ported shotguns, probably above my paygrade.

Wait. "Working around the ranch" was one of the things that people didn't like about W? I was/am by no means a Bush supporter, but I've never had a problem with his ranch.

I got the impression that it was a PR prop intended to make Bush appear like a 'regular guy'. It was purchased in 1999, for instance.
