I don't know, I'll give it more thought.
You could always download a rip and mail the artist $10 as compensation.

I don't think that's really a satisfactory solution.

Depends on the artist. For a small band, it'd be much more than they'd typically get from an album sale. For PJ, Ed would probably use it to wipe his mouth after eating his $12 eggs.

Vinyl is great. The vinyl resurgence has been a godsend for someone like me who has always enjoyed the vinyl experience.

This package looks great. I jumped on this one pretty quick, but still deciding on that last vault release....

Not me. Jumped all over this and have zero interest in the recent PJ Vault release. Don't care. Already forgot what it is. Don't care to remember.

I don't understand the appeal of the full-length Vault releases on vinyl either.
One of the strengths of vinyl is that an album can be broken into smaller but still internally coherent pieces, eg. the flow of side A and B.
A two hour (or more) Pearl Jam show wouldn't appear to lend itself to that kind of format. The side breaks would seem arbitrary, not to mention all that record turning if you're listening to the whole thing. It seems like it would be a very disjointed experience.

That and the cost. This Third Man release is so inexpensive compared to anything PJ has released themselves. And, yeah, the fact that it's a smaller set. Makes way more sense.

I've got til the end of the month to order, right?
And I don't need to be a 10C member or anything?

We have until the 31st, I believe. And yeah, anyone can order, 10C members just get a discount.

Right.. You'll just pay $60 instead of $45, and you'll need to remember to discontinue your Third Man membership if you don't want to be auto-renewed

If you're interested in it as a mere object you could buy the vinyl, download a digital rip, and forgo the record player.

Hang on, so 10C members aren't automatically subscribed to the Third Man subscription thing?
If that's the case, I'm inclined to sign up for a digital 10C subscription as it's quite likely I'll forget to cancel the auto-renewal.

Part of the deal w/ 10C is that they don't get automatically renewed. So, as a 10C member, I pay $45 (including shipping!) for the PJ vinyl package and three months of Third Man Records Vault Membership. At the end of the 3 months, rather than automatically renewing without cancelling, my TMR membership expires.

Ten Club is an auto-renewal membership, my friend.

I know, that's fine.
I just don't want Third Man records rolling up on my doorstep that I don't want.

Thank you, Joe.
Any Aussies or Kiwis get in on this? Is there a gigantic additional shipping charge?

I have a friend that is quite happy with his TMR subscriptions. He usually gets stuff he likes, and if he's not interested, he said he usually gets his money back or more on ebay.

Nah, not my deal at all.
