That's a really cool crane shot at the start. So far what I'm not getting in characters or emotional investment is made up for with a little bit of directorial flair.

What's with the choppy editing and ADR though

Dunno how I feel about the hyper desaturated look. I'm not sure it contributes much to the noir feel they're going for.

Not sure if it was my study-mode mood or my lack of interest in most Kung Fu movies, but I gave up quite quickly with this. Will try give it another go at some point this week, but thought it was pretty damn slow to begin, and couldn't work out what the sepia toning was meant to achieve other than boring-up the visuals.

tonally this was all over the place and the pacing was odd...everything felt really underdeveloped

i agree with jorge that the desaturated look didn't seem to have the desired effect

the fight scenes were good and i enjoyed long qi, but overall i'd give this 2 lo meins out of 5
