I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The CT you see in Hollywood films doesn't exist. Maybe in a extremely small corner near NYC.

Hank Azaria: I just don't think I like him as an actor. I never feel like he's living in a role or convincing me there's any life behind the character. Not just here, but in anything I've seen him in (even though most aren't quote/unquote "serious" films).

I love Hank Azaria and wish he were in more movies. Don't forget ANIMAL IN GODZILLA!!!

Godzilla, of course, is the exception that proves every rule, since the entire production was obviously guided by the spirit of Thespis himself.

It doesn't have to be the final word, the thread will stay open. I should mention that I watched this today and really enjoyed it. I thought it was well written, smartly directed and handsomely shot. I thought the art design was awesome. The cast was great. It didn't even register for a long time that that was John Turturro. It's a farce at heart, and there are drawbacks to taking a farcical approach to a real-life story but it works here. I've never watched The Late Shift but this movie made me want to check it out.

I haven't seen The Late Shift in a long time. But I don't remember it being anywhere near as competent as this. Though, I do remember liking it well enough.
