it's not, but that's because S/T as a whole is great.

This. That intro is the best thing they've recorded in the last ten years.

MYM also has great lyrics, an excellent solo, the excellent call and response outro, and a wonderful chorus.

Oh, I like the song, but that intro is just about 4.3 notches above the rest of the tune.

The whole song is mediocre, the intro is the worst part.

The beginning of Gone is great, but when the "for the lights of the city" part starts it's all downhill from thereon. Actually Avocado is full of songs that have some good parts, but mostly suck.

Most of this thread sucks. Or maybe I just like PJ too much.

There isn't a weak part of this song:

I like Gone. Wouldn't say love, but I certainly don't dislike it.

Green Disease - It starts with a great flow then the chorus completely kills the song.

Hold On - It could be one of their best songs from the early days but the chorus is fairly weak and somewhat unfitting. No wonder it wasn't included in an album back then after many attempts.

I use to love "Gone". The album version sucks compared to the demo/aol version.

Gone lyrics are cringe worthy.

If Gone had stayed in demo form and was pulled out occasionally for the 1st encore set, I'd probably be rather fond of it. It's fit on S/T however is just bad. It kills the whole momentum of the album up until that point. And Matt's lack of creativity behind the kit is just embarrassing. His run-of-the-mill hi-hat tap on the verses may be least favorite moment in the entire PJ catalog. Don't play anything if you can't find something tasteful to add.

Upon further review, it does not look right to me. SOH is a rare gem and you should feel bad for not liking it.

Yeah, well that description probably best fits my initial opinion of the song when the album first came out. Over the years, I've grown to like it but that initial taste is still kind of stuck in my mouth. Plus I had to find something from Binaural to criticize, just to be fair to the other albums!

I liked Gone when I thought Eddie was saying "Gooone, soo gooone, this time I aaaam Goooo--aww-ayy---hoooooone"

I still refuse to admit he doesn't say gone three times in there I liked it that way :(
