every single time i go to listen to Waxahatchee, I expect them to sound like Muswell Hillbillies-era Kinks. Something about their name just screams country folk rock to me.

now that i think about it, it's probably bc there's a small country town i used to drive through all the time in Mississippi called Pelahatchie.

They're really good. But I don't find myself reaching for their albums often. But when a song comes on or when I'm in the mood, I really dig their stuff.
