I'm willing to give it a shot if the mechanics and gameplay are rock solid.

How so? Other than the load times.

Edit: Played it undocked for the first time tonight. Can get pretty choppy.

Is that what you were referring to?
Yeah it was crazy choppy for me, both docked and undocked... but things smoothed out yesterday.

Don't know if some kind of update happened in the background or what.

I did see there was an update for it. Bet that helped.

Yikes, looks like Days Gone is getting mixed reviews.

Yep, a bit torn at the moment over what to do with my pre order--I'm not expecting some groundbreaking game, just looking for a decent looking and fun third person game. I still have time to cancel....

Good example, Rise of the Tomb Raider. The story and voice acting were pretty atrocious, but the game looked great and I had surprisingly more fun playing it than I expected (granted it's a more linear game than open world). That's kind of what I'm hoping for out of this one. Though as I mentioned in another thread, I think the world of RDR2 and God of War has ruined a me on these more generic open world games.

I just read some reviews... I wouldn't buy this game for $60 for sure

At least this might be down to $15 on Black Friday.

My wife got me the NES Classic for my birthday. Finally got to play some games tonight.

Breaks my heart how bad I am at Ninja Gaiden. I used to own that game.

But at least I can still kick ass at Pac-man.

Save states my friend. Use them and use them liberally.

Also, it is really easy to hack if you want to.

M_D you have me very intrigued.

Can I get an idea of how you spend your typical day?

Between work(?), video games, husbanding, parenting, NBA playoffs, etc. what is the breakdown? It seems like you have 48 hour days or something.

He's using Centurian time, it's a 37-hour day.

Work is about 40-45 hours a week. I live close to work and daycare so I have little no commute, which helps a lot. I dunno, I just find the time (usually in the late evenings).

Do you only sleep 3 or 4 hours? I always assumed you didn't work

I had no idea what you were talking about, so I did some Googling.

Thanks for the tip!

The PS4 controller is pretty tough for my daughter to get a hang of, so I've been thinking about getting an NES Classic to sort of ease her into gaming at a more simple pace.

This is another great option for people with smaller hands.

I sleep around 6-7 hours a night usually. My wife and I are pretty equal partners with household responsibilities and we try to get them all done (or close to it) by the time the kid is in bed.
