Fun fact: my basement received the nickname, "The Dungeon."

I made my bed in college into a little fort . Freshman year we bunked our beds so as to allow more drinking space. I hung blankets around my bed (top bunk) and it was forever known as the masturbation cocoon.

Growing up in the 70s and 80s we still had bomb drills. Many places around town had fallout shelters in their basements. I guess it just was instilled in me that the basement was a safe place.

Basement was where I would go to get away from the family. Or deal with a hangover. Dark, cold, lots of blankets, jerk off, big screen. Oh and id make out with girls down there. Whats not to love?

You can't be invited to my doomsday shelter if you're going to be jerking off all over the place

Yeah, basements growing up were pretty much the greatest things in the world -- a place to get away, a place to stay cool, a place to party, my room was in the basement from age 13 to 22.

And I definitely miss the storage space.
