I just don't get why you're wasting so much of your time talking about it if it sucks so much.

What if all 500 of these people that have heard this song voted it down.
Of course it's inaccurate, but I'm not intending to undertake a full fledged investigation. I think LB is vastly inferior to MYM, and the people will vote accordingly. On Youtube, on charts, on wherever - it doesn't matter. Time will show if I was wrong or right in my assumption.
Any answer you get will be completely flawed and useless.
The only thing that matters is that the answer goes your way. It's like stip & metacritic all over again. Yes, I'm badmouthing the fucker while he's having a baby, I'm an asshole, I don't care.

I'm giving them the equal treatment. Good songs are overpraised already

On a completely different note, i.e. actually related to LB 'the song', I am still hearing the last line as "all the problems, they will die with you."

Guess we'll have to wait for the official lyrics (if any) to confirm.

You can't argue the objective data.

God, this argument.

And im also good with FD, I've said it before but, though it might not be the most exciting thing to hear from them, it sounds like a good song, and i think it will be much better on the album then it was live
Seriously, doc, go to the beach!
Weather hasn't been great today, but i did a few minutes of body surfing

I love it, unlike the other 2 songs (future days and mym, not the avocado outtakes needed time to grow on me) I didnt really like it at first, but after some listens I like it better than those 2
Really looking forward to listen to a studio version.
It also may sound a little backspacerish, but its was better than most of it.

I stand by it.
You can definitely make certain objective observations about any musician's technical skill level (at some point the objectivity breaks down, but for extremes on either end there's a little truth to it), or about what a certain type of music inherently is. But there are too many technically proficient virtuosos who make terrible music--and likewise, too many technically inept bozos who make wonderful music--for the statement to serve any purpose beyond rote description.

In the end, all that really matters is what you think of the song. Good or bad. Who cares what the next guy thinks. Isn't the amazing thing about music is that it's completely objective. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder kind of deal. Two people standing side by side can hear the same song, same voice, same drums, same riffs, same whatever and have to complete opposite impressions of said song. One could think it "rocks" the other could think it "sucks". To me, that's pretty awesome and the power of music.

Whether you like LB or not is up to you and no one else. For me, I think it's growing on me. I like most of it except the Lighning Bolt course, it's nothing special except a fun song. This is all how I feel about it and that's all that matters to me and really shouldn't matter what my dumbass thinks. Ha.

she started to cry while I read this hurtful post.

My metacritic point is different. I only argue that things like sales or formal critical reception are the best baramoters we have for how widespread somethings reception might be. They are still flawed through

It's different in method and flaws but the silliness of the whole thing is not different. You're taking two distinct subset of critics, turn their subjective opinion into a number that sometimes doesn't have anything to do with said opinion, and think it means anything to compare the results. It might be even worse than youtube views actually, because at least youtube views ARE youtube views, when Metacritic will sometimes make up ratings for reviews that don't have any.

So yeah, sure, you can always think it's some sort of barometer anyway but it's one that makes as much sense as the guy who sees the rapture in Lightning Bolt's artwork.
