(@3:23, the part 'Escape is never the sa-fest place', is probably the most impressive really high note Ed has sung because he sings it so cleanly and effortlessly as opposed to his usual style of screaming the high notes, which still sounds bad-ass.)
This one has always impressed me. I don't think he's ever sung it (or tried it) live.

He doesn't attempt it often live but I remember one boot from the 2003 tour where he goes for it and nails it. I'm forgetting which one. Usually, he 'speaks' this whole line at the end in a lower octave.

As far as live performances go, off the top of my head, this LROM one must be one of his all time best:

I could read these types of breakdowns for days. Love the technical stuff. Interesting stuff release_me.

You need to do a vocal breakdown when LB comes out and harmless needs to do another drum review as well.

Pretty hard to get him to sing like this on a regular tour.

I'm not sure I ever noticed that Mike broke the headstock off his guitar.

Thanks, guys! I don't know if I can take on the responsibility of writing a proper review of the whole album's vocals but I will definitely chime in with my thoughts about them, maybe song by song over a period of time. I always need time to absorb new music and listen to the songs repeatedly to get all the nuances in Ed's singing, the music, etc.

I am desperate for some new music now. Bring on Sirens!

I'll be on it. I've got mixed opinions on MYM's drumming, as everyone knows, so it's not an amazing start. But I'm sure it gets better.

I bet Brendan O'Brien's dad watched that VH1 segment and said, 'So that's where my blazer went...'

its the best thing either have done, ever.

but seriously, i thought he was great. the songs kinda bluesy and dark, but uptempo at the same time. mccready's solo fit the song pefectly.
you had me at best thing either have done, ever.
the more i listen to it the more i think mike really shines in this. im sure they rehearsed it, so maybe some of the solo ideas came from the rest of the band, but he sounds fuckin awesome. granted, its mike mccready so its pretty bluesy, but thats what i love about him. its really not just a straight solo either, the rest of the band kinda comes in and jams pretty heavy before goin back into the last verse.

Sometime Ed writes songs that he struggles to perform vocally live (army reserve/wws chorus). I have always thought he wrote the perfect song for his post-98 era scream in grievance.

I hadn't watched this in forever. They were so good. Eddie is ridiculous for the final parts of LROM and they are all just firing on all cylinders for the real me

I assume the reason why he is playing My Father's Son on upright is because Brendan actually recorded the bass on MYM. BoB is in the plane flying over, which is why Jeff looks so pissed. And where's the Stone video?
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.
