have you actually listened to the instrumental side of that thing?

interesting and worth listening to are not the same thing.

They're not bad songs, mind you. But they're 3 of the weakest songs on the record, and a pretty bad start to it.

I love "Gods Dice" and "Evacuation", especially the latter. "Breakerfall" doesn't do a whole lot for me, but I don't dislike it.

I love all three of them. Gods' Dice is probably my favorite of the lot.

Up until "Riot Act", there aren't too many Pearl Jam songs that I don't like.

alright, i'll settle for "interresting" because it's the first Matt song and it is considerably different from anything this band had done before.
none of you guys is gonna convince me that there's a good melody in there though. it's a constipated mess that may please you guys into thinking what PJ might have been had they chose to go that route. but it's not well-written, the lyrics fit the music (i.e. contrived) and it's not like they could all play this song in their sleep (not that all songs should be really easy to play in order to be good but it would have a better chance at succeeding if all the guys went for it). it's PJ aiming at something beyond their limits. whether you find it good or great doesn't really change anything about it.
