what sort of hellish circumstances would have to conspire to get you to set a *ucking toe in wrigleyville?

lest i devolve into a highly elaborated version of the contemporary moment's brolosophy, i remain perched in the cat-bird vantage.

after beginning without, after breakfast, after all possible kisses, after indeterminacy, after the dirt red of the western suburbs, after the grand soirees and jubilation, after great pain, after top 40, after the windy city's blue afternoons, after the arcane graffiti, after the wine merchant's windows, after the nervous system of air--until an aura and awfulness surround you in your chair at the end of another ball game, passing drinks from mouth to mouth

Finally found this at the library and I've been reading it. I really can't get into it, it's just not very interesting. The constant "Ctrl-Alt-xxxx" references, talking to 'commenters' that you can't see, and just in general it doesn't feel like the previous book at all. I'm giving it 50 more pages before I give up but it's not looking good.

Finished "The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry" and it's wonderful. If you're a fan of reading books you should read this one, should only take a day or two.

Bibliotik's going to close my account because of my low ratio. I find it impossible to upload much of anything, even though I keep sharing what I download for weeks and weeks.

Oh well, it was great while it lasted.

I'm trying to read Infinite Jest (for school stuff) and 2666 (for fun) at the same time. Big mistake.

So far, yeah. I had already started IJ, but then I read Distant Star with my students and I was like, "Why the hell not?"
