The version of Black from Saratoga is amazing from my memory. Don’t forget Daughter at Jones Beach 2.

I remember how exciting it was that they were releasing official bootlegs of every show. I had no money back then but definitely found a way to buy a ton of the boots. And that was after taking in a few shows.

Random opinion:

The band may have enjoyed Seattle night 2 more, but they sounded better on Seattle night 1. That version of Black is probably the best on the tour, that version of Crown of Thorns is better than Vegas, Animal was superb.

2000 is my favorite era, but I think it's clear this tour is the beginning of Eddie's vocal decline.

His vocals on this tour (and '98) are absolutely a choice. He sounds even better in the '03-'06 stretch IMO.

Agreed. 2005 is my favorite voice from that era.

Hell no, 2003 was prime EV. I don't know what happened to his voice like 2005-2006. 2006 was the decline.

2000 was still top tier as well.

I’ve been going through some old bootlegs and I agree with this.

This tour holds a special in my heart as my brother and I attended 15 of the US shows. And also because Touring Band is my favorite PJ DVD.
80 shows...

I didn’t attend any shows, since I only got into Pearl Jam in 01 or 02. But I bought so many boots from this tour as I was first getting into the band. Many songs I first heard live on the 2000 boots before I heard the studio versions.

Are you me? This was exactly my introduction to the band as well. Hearing Last Exit/Animal alongside Breakerfall/God's Dice and other Binaural tracks etc. blew my mind at the time. Paris 2000 was the first bootleg I purchased and never looked back. Short show but underrated I think.

Same, but it was the Verona show for me. It went Binaural -> Verona 2000 bottleg -> Several other 2000 boots -> Touring Band DVD.

  It was a fun time to become a fan. I remember walking in any music shop and they always had tons of boots. You never knew which ones you were gonna find.

Remember that this was an era when Pearl Jam were still as cold as yesterday's soup, for having the nerve to make creative albums with inspired songs.

Sarcastic comments like "Who would want 72 bootlegs? I thought they broke up 10 years ago." were common.

So it felt like you were part of a special club. Not the (deleted by management) club.

They hadn't become an over-commercialized nostalgia act yet.

Philly 2009 put a permanent end to that.

Any experts out there know if there was a good version of Rival during the 2000 tour?

Cool, I’ll check it out. Underrated track and I wish they played it more live.
