Is it streaming somewhere? I'm kind of interested to hear the songs without the orchestra.

Journeyman bassist Tim Drummond, who performed with Neil Young, Crosby, Stills and Nash and Bob Dylan among many more rock legends, passed away January 10th, the St. Louis County, Missouri coroner's office confirmed to Rolling Stone. No cause of death was given but investigators revealed there was no trauma.
Drummond served as primary bassist on Young's 1972 masterpiece Harvest and contributed to every studio LP the singer-songwriter released from 1974's On the Beach to 1980's Hawks & Doves. Drummond was also a member of Young's short-lived backup bands the Shocking Pinks, the Stray Gators and the International Harvesters. After reuniting with the Harvest crew for 1992's Harvest Moon, Drummond's two-decade-long tenure with Young ended with the rocker's 1993 MTV Unplugged performance.
Someday this thread will be bumped with the passing of Neil. I hope that day never comes.

My four month old girl LOVES Storytone. I skip Who's Gonna Stand Up and the big band songs, but the orchestral ballads really calm her down in the car when she's upset. My wife has conceded this to the point of asking for a copy for her car.
In real news, Neil is recording with the Nelson boys. I don't know... I don't want Lukas Nelson to Stevie Ray Vaughn solo all over a Neil album. Neil let him trade leads with him on the recent shows they backed him on and it wasn't so great.
Last time someone else took a lead on a Neil record was Mike on Mirrorball, which was minimal and outstanding.

Not as bad as I remember. Still, the band is pretty unremarkable. I thought the last three records of original material (Le Noise, PsychPill, Storytone) were overall very strong, Who's Gonna Stand Up notwithstanding, so hopefully the songs are there.

I really like "Storytone" (though I agree that "Stand Up" stinks). The acoustic and orchestral discs together add up to something that neither disc could have achieved by itself -- helps elevate some average songwriting to something altogether more compelling, I think...
