Yeah, I tried to argue that one as an absolutely required trip but got vetoed on 2 fronts - Lisa is heading off to Darwin for a friends birthday at the same time as the Perth shows are on and our finances kicked me in the balls with a dose of reality as well (we are moving at the end of the year and are juggling 2 mortgages with unknown tenant movements at this stage).

Really bummed actually. The Fremantle Arts Centre is a great venue too. I saw the Black Keys there a few years back.

On most days Round Here is my favorite Counting Crows song. I was 15 when it came out and it took a half dozen listens before I even knew what the hell to make of it. Most songs you hear are easy to "figure out" (for lack of a better phrase), but as this song unfolded it felt (to my ears) like it took unexpected twists, turns and detours. And with every listen I realized that it never failed to make me feel something. I could go on, but for me, this is one of those special songs. Also, I dig that it's never the exact same way twice live. Other songs (Crows or other artists) along with improv lyrics often get thrown in, pushing it to typically be 8 to 10 minutes. There are a million great live versions, but I'll include a clip below from 1999 where Adam intros the song over the opening chords.
