This will be the year Brady gets Brady'd by Garropolo, then he'll know what Bledsoe felt like.

Wow.....NFL just filed in NYC to potentially block Brady/NFLPA filing in Minnesota...this is getting better than the Red Zone at the conclusion of the early games....

If you thought the NFL couldn't get any more underhanded with regards to DeflateGate, you were wrong.

Yes, the NFL waited over a month after hearing the appeal of Tom Brady to issue the verdict that they will be upholding the four-game suspension, and then they immediately filed with the New York federal court to get ahead of any response by Brady and the NFLPA.

If you needed evidence that this is no longer about Tom Brady, and has devolved into an NFL vs NFLPA power struggle, well, here you go. Brady is stuck in the crossfire and the NFLPA is waiting for Brady's go-ahead to file a counter case in Minnesota, a labor-friendly state.

So, way to go, NFL. Way to pick your battles, especially when the science actually disagrees with your verdict.

Just. Wow.

EDIT: Brady/NFLPA just filed. Off to court we go.

Mike Vick, Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, people with texts, pics and photos they don't want others to see.

It's just a minor issue for any other team than the Pats.

It's only a minor issue when you're not under investigation where the cell phone is a piece of evidence.

I just want this story to go away already. Training camps can't come soon enough.

Im really suprised why people dont seem to understand why a famous athlete married to a supermodel would destroy a cell phone. Lots of dick picks mistress noodz and giselle labia on a tom brady cell im sure.

Not the best choice of words on my part. All he had to do is just own up to lying about it and we could all move on. It's not like this is some grand conspiracy. It's pretty obvious what happened, regardless of the effectiveness of the scheme.

Now we'll drag it out through the start of the season.

from my experience, NY is also a labor-friendly state

The most unsettling thing for me so far, by a long shot, was the lack of possessive apostrophes in Brady's Facebook statement. Dude, don't you have a publicist? Have them check that shit.

That would make more sense if this didn't happen in the middle of an investigation where the accuser is accusing you based on texts you sent from said phone.

But this whole situation is so bizarre. Is it possible to hate everyone involved here?

I agree with GH, I want this to die and football to start.

It just seems so obvious that Goodell is out to make an example of the situation, just like bounty-gate. It is very off-putting. I would say the same thing if this were Romo and the Cowboys, who I hate.

Still way overdone for an equipment violation. Jesus H. Christ.

The league didn't ask for the phone, they asked Brady for who he communicated with.

Which he provided.

Whether the phone was still in one piece or not has no impact on this case/situation.

The League had the info they requested from Brady and chose not to pursue it (or there was nothing new there).

This is a farce and Brady will have his suspension vacated. Not bc the court will find him innocent, but bc the court will say that the processes and procedures did not fit the punishment of a player missing games.

He's not really in trouble for the equipment violation.

He's in trouble for going to elaborate lengths to hide the violation, and then repeatedly lying about it.

Roger is an asshole who never should have become involved in this kind of dicipline but, it's in the CBA.

My guess 2 months ago was 2 games, now maybe 1 or none, could and should have been handled in a week, egos are way to big. It should and could have been handled immediately for 25k and nothing.

But if he didn't do anything, then what is he lying about or hiding?

I'm sure that gets an eye roll, but if Mortensen comes out the day after the game and writes a headline:

Patriots Game Balls Within The Expected Range Based On Ideal Gas Law

We'd be asking the real questions about who told Kravitz about the perceived ball violation at half time for him to write about it following the game. And why did they leak a false story about a team heading to the Super Bowl.

I'm thinking the closer this gets to a "ruling" from Judge Berman the less and less the league will get. The league moved the goalposts with regard to what Brady did wrong, the Judge can see that just from Troy Vincent's testimony at the appeal.

As I said before, 0 games and a fine (charity donation) at most, otherwise the league will get nothing except the eroneous team fine and draft picks.

I'm starting to wonder if the League genuinely wanted this to be a shit-show. I mean, look at how blatant this is (spoiler'd for sizing):
Spoiler: show

I'm seriously starting to come around to the thinking of a full-on conspiracy against the Pats... admittedly, prior to yesterday, I laughed at the idea, but this seems like more than a PR battle... it seems like complete character assassination; and not just from a League surrogate (ESPN), but the League's own website.
