Nice! What games are they getting?
I have no idea. I know my sister bought the Mario Kart 8 bundle, but she also asked me to recommend some games. I told her Mario Maker 2, Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Odyssey, Duck Game, Splatoon 2.
I wanted to recommend BotW but the oldest is 11 and I don't think he'd be that into it.
My secretary is getting it for her son. I said Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey and Switch Online for all of the NES and SNES games.
Yeah Switch Online is a good call.

I'm getting a big kick out of seeing my nephews' account on my friends list and seeing them keep trying new games.
Also, either my sister and her husband are getting into it too or the kids are sneaking out of bed at night to play Mario Kart.

That's great!

I'll believe it when I see it. The "pro" model rumored for last year turned out to be a marginal process/battery life upgrade.
I do think Nintendo plans to release either a Mario Odyssey 2 of Breath of the Wild 2 in the Fall to compete with the release of the PS5 and X Box. A "pro" model makes sense, but it may be too soon.

Is Mario Odyssey 2 even in development? Today I read that BotW2 will release in Q1 2021. Other than Animal Crossing, what's Nintendo's big 1st party releases this year?

I wish it would be Pikmin 4

There's really been no news on this. I wonder what will come out first - Metroid Prime 4 or Pikmin 4?

There's no official word, but Galaxy 2 was also a complete surprise when it was announced. They have the engine and there was no proper DLC.
They also have a few Wii U ports left to do. And the Metroid Prime HD trilogy that has been rumored for some time.

Looking like a pretty weak year for Nintendo Switch.

They haven't announced any first party games for the back half of the year. Or really even 3/4 of the year.

BotW2 is either Q4 2020 or Q1 2021. That makes up for anything else.

BotW2 will be better than any XBox/PS5 launch window game.

It won't come close to BotW2.

Zelda's my favorite franchise. Halo is my #2. It's going to be a fun fall / winter.

There were absolutely no switch’s to be found here over Christmas and I’d finished breath of the wild so I sold mine and got store price for it (it was as new I’d only tried it handheld once)
And spent the money on a gym membership. Better real exercise than running around getting digital exercise.
I’ll regret it once the sequel comes out but right now regret nothing

You should just buy a stationary bike. That way you can play video games while you exercise.
