So are his power numbers.

I hope wainwright rushes back and totally blows.

I have Wainwright on my fantasy team and first place is three grand, so I hope he comes back and is lights out.

The Jays are the best team in high leverage situations this year. Unfortunately, they beat the hell out of their opponents so often that we've been deprived of all the walk-offs.

We'll see. This team is going to have several cracks at it over the next several years.

The late 90's and early 2000 teams were way less home grown than this team btw. Doesn't really fit the narrative. ..

yeah, i'm not sure where that came from. while to be sure 3/5 of the staff in 2003 was homegrown (Wood, Zambrano, and Prior), after that 95% of the position starters came over via free agency and trades. in 1998 (the only year they made the playoffs in that decade (they were horrible in the 90's)), with the exception of Mark Grace, every position starter played for other team before the Cubs, and 2/5 of the starters did.

Maybe wait till the team wins a title to worry about how the city will react. For every late 90s Yankees, there's a handfull of early 90s Pirates, mid 90s Indians, mid 90s/early 00s Mariners, and 00s A's team with nothing to show for what they put together.

Aren't the Cubs known for not winning the WS and being OK with it?

Theo will make it happen for Chicago. He will grow the farm and from there, he just needs ownership to open the wallet to form up a mean rotation and pen.

Dunno about this year, though...there is some hard and experienced competition in the NL.

I was living in Maryland when the Sox won, and I wasn't sure what to do, so I just ran out the front door and raced around the block like a maniac.
