Chud wins.
That's beautiful, man.Lament wrote:I was living in Maryland when the Sox won, and I wasn't sure what to do, so I just ran out the front door and raced around the block like a maniac.BigRedLedbetter wrote:This quote is almost verbatim how I would react if the Rangers ever win a World Series.
When I caught my breath I called my grandparents (lifelong south siders who were at the time 80 and 76 respectively) back in Chicago and listened to them excitedly tell me about all of the people partying in the streets and how amazing it was for them to think that the White Sox were finally World Champions. Then I went joyriding through DC and left obnoxious voice mails for people all night long.
I tried to get tickets to games 3 and 4 at Coors but Ticketmaster crashed. I was so fucking mad! My friend (Bo Sox fan) went to game 4 as well as game 3 in Saint Louis in 2004.cutuphalfdead wrote:But for 2007 my job was to pull highlights from the playoff games.
Did Ruddo give you a victory hug?cutuphalfdead wrote:2007 I was at work. 2013 I was waiting for the light rail in Charlotte with Ruddo.
I was so happy for your fan base. It was bound to happen. Beating the Yankees and Cardinals must have been really sweet.numbers wrote:I just sat there for hours in shock when the Sox won in 04.
For me, there will never be another series like the '04 ALCS.BigRedLedbetter wrote:I was so happy for your fan base. It was bound to happen. Beating the Yankees and Cardinals must have been really sweet.numbers wrote:I just sat there for hours in shock when the Sox won in 04.
Not so sure about that. Their rotation could be pretty nasty in a year or two. Sale, Quintana, Rondon and Francelis Montas should be ready next year sometime.verb_to_trust wrote:The white sox are going to suck for a long time before things get better.
"Bagging on" and pointing out that maybe you should wait till your team actually wins a title (or at least gets to the World Series) to start posting about how worried you are about how the city is going to react when they do are two different things.verb_to_trust wrote:A lot of the bagging on the cubs I hear is coming from a 'my team is stuck in baseball hell' place.
Exactly what #BRL just said.BigRedLedbetter wrote:Not so sure about that. Their rotation could be pretty nasty in a year or two. The ALCS was bigger than the World Series, that probably doesn't make sense to most people but Sox fans know what I'm talking about.BigRedLedbetter wrote:I was so happy for your fan base. Agreed. The WS was anti climactic after that ALCS. No way you guys were going to lose.numbers wrote:The ALCS was bigger than the World Series, that probably doesn't make sense to most people but Sox fans know what I'm talking about.BigRedLedbetter wrote:I was so happy for your fan base.
