As someone who's favorite NL team is the Cubs (or Braves) I hope they do well. I think most MLB teams could contend in a year or two. So much parity now.

It's not much of a feud from a Cubs perspective. For 156 games, the Cubs couldn't care less about the White Sox. From the White Sox perspective, however, their inferiority complex lasts 365 days a year.

I couldn't care less about the position players they're developing when they've developing pitchers like Sale, Quintana, Rodon, and Montas. There are plenty of bats on the free agent market every offseason.

Point out that planning for multiple championships before a team has accomplished anything of any real significance is something that repeatedly hasn't worked out for the last thirty-years and all of the sudden it's a call to arms. No one said there wasn't a reason to be excited about the guys they've got.
