I was about to bag out PJ and their lack of studio releases since LB. But then I was reminded of Tool.

The Pixies podcast album rollout is enjoyable. If PJ did something similar I'd be more than happy.

Stone has taken his re-engagement with the band to a whole new level.
Mike is on fire and the lyrics he has contributed are his best yet.
Ed is sounding like the grizzled veteran he is. His ability to get inside characters and capture their despair in the moment is as good as it gets.
Matt, while losing the odd time signature drumming he is famous for, is really the driving force of the songs and album.
Jeff plays bass, and there is some bass in every song.
Boom, while his place in the band may be up for debate, the stamp he's placed on this album is not.
BOB harkens back to his younger days, putting fresh ears on a veteran band.
