How is Palp still alive (maybe his learning to cheat death from his master???) and how the heck is so much of the death star still in tact? that thing was blown to bits

meh, we saw that explosion from one side. Maybe the whole backside of the death star is in one piece.

Plus, it's like planet sized. It's entirely possible that pieces the size of buildings stayed in tact. Maybe even stadium sized pieces.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

That shot of the .... is the the Tantive IV ... flying over the trees was pretty awesome.

EDIT: God damn it. I'm worried about my family's propensity to Alzheimer's, yet I have no problem coming up with the name of a ship from 40 year old movie that was never spoken on screen.

It’s already outselling endgame for tickets.

So much for that boycott

Im not sure i dig the whole...and this might be a feeling but im worried about them doing a ALL THE GOOD CHARACTERS VS PALPS kinda thing. I dont want this movie to become Endgame.

I do like the sad feeling the trailer has...specially with that C3PO line. Damn, im going to cry in the theatre. Also, im fucking mad now.

That last shot of Rey alone looking up at Palpatine says to me she’s gotta face him alone

So is Kylo dead at this point?

I have those same feelings.

Ya know, my initial reaction, when we hear Finn speaking first about the force and how it brought them together....I had a glimpse of hope that perhaps he is Force sensitive and this could be a major curve ball.

As I reflect, I understand the need to close things out but I do hope it's not done in an entirely predictable way because the good guys already beat palps.

And I like the C3PO line, but most of the people he's addressing he's only known for a few years - would have a bigger impact if that audience was han, luke, etc.

I also love the fact that JJ has basically set up a massive battle and seems like virtually every ship from every movie, show, cartoon, etc. will be used. Give me all the ships!!!

Thats why im so mad about. It should have been Luke, Han, Leia there.... Lando..Chewie... Those are 3PO´s friends....not Poe. I think thats the main error in this trilogy.

There are plenty of people I was close to 20-30 years ago, that I have no contact with anymore. And there are people in my life I've known from 1-5 years, that I love and meet regularly. Not saying Leia, Luka, Han are not special in C3PO's life, but I'm sure whatever C3PO can feel, he can do it just as much for the new group.

My major concerns:

- Making all three trilogies tie together in one movie (wrapping up this trilogy alone is a tough ask).
- Palpatine as the big bad. It's going to take a bit of exposition to explain what he has been doing for 30+ years without relying on side stuff outside of the movies. This exposition will take time away from the characters introduced in the first two movies.
- Trying to tie up loose ends. Not everything needs to be answered.
- Rey's background being related to Skywalkers, Kenobis, Palptatine, etc. Just let her be a nobody the Skywalkers train for future generations.
- I have a feeling they will bungle Kylo's redemption/downfall.
- What are the minor characters going to be doing in this story? Will they have enough screen time to care about their journey? Will they get to do grounded, cool stuff?
- As noted by VG, I have concerns about an End Game all out brawl being directed in a competent way. Has the potential to more fans service than story service.

I still plan to see this movie with an open mind and enjoy the spectacle.

Palpatine's line about them coming together would suggest Rey having some lineage were familiar with.

If you're in the minority, I'm there with you. I was literally just getting ready to type the same thing. So I guess he's part of some overall plan Palpatine has?
