That's the perfect size.![]()
I knew better than to order a venti that day, but I had had two martinis at lunchtime and I probably wasn't in my right mind.

Ahh, gotcha.tragabigzanda wrote:Nope -- A latte just has steamed milk. A cappuccino has steamed milk with foam on tip. At issue is how dry or wet you want that foam to be.pepperwhiteMFC wrote:tragabigzanda wrote:1. A wet cappuccino is leagues better than a dry one.durdencommatyler wrote:1. 4.But then it's actually a latte, isn't it?
Cappuccino should be in a smaller cup and has more foam on top than a latte. Their lattes do have foam on top. Though, their menu is so convoluted that it's hardly what I consider to be a good coffee shop. They let their customers dictate the recipes and that's why they have to remake drinks constantly. It seemed to me that they were making the same drinks whether it was a cappuccino or a latte, because customers would order a venti for everything. So it became muscle memory and they had to have enough liquid to fill that size cup. At the Bux, a venti cappucino and a venti latte are same same. Very few baristas that I trained with there are actually dedicated to the craft, imo.tragabigzanda wrote:Where does Starbucks fall in the discussion? I worked for a Stumptown-trained coffee shop, and that was their take. Coffe magnate George Howell's take is the same, I believe.pepperwhiteMFC wrote:Ahh, gotcha.tragabigzanda wrote:Nope -- A latte just has steamed milk. A cappuccino has steamed milk with foam on tip. Then Starbucks is doing it wrong. I went through their Barista training program, btw.
