The part about the completely unnecessary reboot being helmed by writers and directors who are super talented and could otherwise be making original stories. Reboot culture mostly sickens me, with a few exceptions. The Coen's attachment in particular is a bummer.

Many of the Coen's best films are adaptations though, as is all of Guadagnino's good work...

True Grit and No Country both benefitted from their sensibilities, to be sure. I have way lower hopes for this one.

It’s also probably worth mentioning that while I think the Pacino Scarface is an objective masterpiece, I subjectively hate it (except for Pfeiffer, she can stay)

I get that. I'd also just note though that I read this as being a lot more like O Brother than either of the other films--following a general structure in a different world with their spin on it.

Also, apparently they're also directing a version of MacBeth??

I watched Anchorman against my will. The Jack Black scene was great and Steve Carell made my laugh so hard I almost pissed myself.

Eurovision is funny, European earnestness is funny, Will Ferrell is often very funny... I hope it's just a weak trailer 'cause I actually think there's a lot of potential there
