what about the part about them being managed by one of the biggest asshole d-bags in baseball for a number of years? or that their fans think they're somehow special because they "really understand the game" (because other fanbases are completely ignorant)? or where the entire organization does it "the right way?" or the part where their front office hacks into the computers of other front offices?

plus, their pitchers can't handle their alcohol.

1. Giants
2. Brewers
3. Pirates
4. Cardinals
5. Mets

None of that is set in stone, and I'll usually pull for players/managers I like once the Sox are out of contention. There's probably a good chance I'll be pulling for the Blue Jays this year on account of Mark Buehrle.
I pull for the other teams in the division if STL is sucking. Except for the Cubs. I'd like to see the BrewCrew win a title sometime for the sake of my wife's family.

Raises hand.
Go ahead, you can speak.
They are the NL Yankees. They are one of those teams you love or hate.

I just want some answers. Red Sox, Dodgers, and Yankees fans are all on another level wen it come to fa base douchebaggery, yet it seems like people want to lump the Cards in with them just because, "hey look, they win a lot too...douchebags!"
I haven't noticed anything with the Dodgers. I have with the Orioles and Royals, which has been fun.

But no, none of them can compare to Yankees and Red Sox fans.

The Giants are always my go-to because Barry Bonds is my favorite player of all-time. The Brewers I'll pull for because I know a lot of Brewers fans through my Packer fandom, and Paul Molitor was my first favorite player. The Brewers were my favorite team once upon a time (and the reason I became a Packers fan), and I used to LOVE going to Milwaukee County Stadium back from like 1989-1992. Miller Park is a fun trip too. The Pirates are kinda the same, I know a lot of Pirates fans from being a Pens fan, and I pulled for them when Barry was there. The Cardinals-White Sox thing I guess is just inherent (plus, like the aforementioned Giants and Pirates, they have great fucking uniforms that look amazing on TV in mid-October). There's an inherent love-fest between Sox fans and Mets fans too (though I think all Sox fans would tell you Mets fans have it much worse), and my best friend all throughout my late-teens and twenties is a Mets fan, so I like when they do well for his sake.

I generally don't ever pull for anyone in the AL besides the Sox, and I usually want teams from the AL Central to lose. I wanted the Tigers to make the World Series in 2013 though cause of Skitch.

I feel like everything you just stated was either a gross exaggeration or melodramatic bullshit that has no real merit. Who's a big asshole d-bag? LaRussa or Matheny? Is there a shortage of managers that get emotional or blow up when things don't go their way? Has a Cardinal fan actually done something to you personally to make you feel this way?

And I think their organization does do it "the right way". A lot of teams do not. Im pretty sure anyone actually connected to the Cardinals front office was found to be guilt free in the Astros incident. But I guess if you're just trying to compile a huge list of reasons to hate te Cardinals there's no reason to be picky.

the fact that you seriously asked the question about how fans could conceivably hate the Cardinals more or less proves the point about how Cardinals fans view their organization and themselves, which is very off-putting to others. hell, even the onion got in on the fun:
as for larussa, yes he's an asshole. and no, not every team is managed by an asshole.

Being the hybrid St. Louis/Chicago sports fan that I am due to where I grew up has been a little strange, but I always found solace in the fact that I could just justify my pro-Bears but anti-Cubs stance by siding with the White Sox.

Pretty much this. The elitism is real. Plus their perverted obsession with Yadiar Molina.
