Isn't more likely that we have had some type of nascent tech for a while now that we don't understand the physics behind, like a toddler on an iPad, and these 'whistleblower' people are just assuming it's alien because that feels safer to them than the alternative that the universe is beyond the limit of what humans can achieve?
