If the red team doesnt stop this, I dont see how anyone in good conscious could vote them. It's one thing to be opposed to the progressive clowns of the world, but supporting a leader who is not even trying to hide his election manipulation is beyond me.

Yeah man how could anyone vote for the red team after blatant election manipulation.

Not to “both sides” an explicitly one-sided issue, but Democrats control the House and have so far responded to this by going home for a while.

I really wonder what rural communities will think about these USPS cutbacks.

If you don't live in a house with a standalone mailbox, how else are you supposed to send mail? Mail slots are only for receiving. Maybe some larger apartment complexes have an outgoing mail bin, but most of the city of Philadelphia (and so, presumably, most urban spaces) uses those bins.

Cheapskate authoritarianism aside, I feel like there's quite the potential for a political downside for Trump if everything wrong with the post office between now and Election Day becomes his fault in the mind of the public.

If I had to guess I'd say he's banking on the hope that the larger culture war bullshit (antifa is gonna rape your Nana, Kamala hates cops, Biden loves illegals, etc) will occlude all this. I think he could probably get away with it if it was JUST the post office, but I don't think you can culture war your way out of a pandemic.

Ah. I'd never used one before living in a high-density area.

Are you all missing the fact that no matter how bad it gets we can vote in person to remove him? Sure, we'll all be sick (or worse) after, but we can still vote.

I forgot that the other day. The elections back on.

If only the votes of the most news-obsessed voters (like anyone posting in this thread) actually made a difference, rather than being a given.

Right now, I plan on going in person. But NYC does early voting (finally!), so I'll definitely be doing that. I'm prepared to begin the mail-in process (not a guarantee here) if things trend differently soon. But I just don't trust it right now.
